Logline

Life-long slacker, Diego, hopes to prove his worth and win back his ex-girlfriend by following her into the Peace Corp, where, in Moldova, and out of his depth, he is forced to overcome his arrogance and learn to help others on their terms.

Synopsis

Diego joins the Peace Corps to prove his worth and win back his ex-girlfriend, Kelsey. Diego imagines warm exotic places, with a beach and grateful natives that he can teach about the world. Diego is sent to Moldova, far from the beach. Not only do the natives not recognize his genius, but they have their own clear idea of the world and how it works.

Diego undergoes a slow transformation through a series of adventures that test his assumptions about the world and about people. The first season of the series revolves around Diego teaching English in a village in Moldova, the characters he meets, and his adjustment to life in Moldova. He is forced to overcome his arrogance and learn to help people on their own terms. Overall, the series is an attempt to capture the spirit of Moldova, the challenges of cultural difference, and Diego’s journey towards improvement—all the while laughing along the way.

Producer's Note

We released the first three episodes on our Youtube channel at the end of 2020. These three episodes reached over a million views and gathered almost 50,000 subscribers. Currently we are in post-production on three more episodes that will finish out the first season. Ideas for a season two are already being developed.
