Wars, politics, organised crime, corruption, territorial, religious and ideological conflicts, human rights. activism.... - these topics are highly recognised by documentary filmmaking.

How to act when you have an important story to tell, but filming a documentary may expose the characters or crew at risk? How to take care of the security of people and their families, if necessary of their identity, but also of the material you already have? Whether, how and when to seek international production partners?

This session, devoted to filmmaking in a dangerous environment, will be hosted by Irene Langeman, a film director who successfully filmed a.o. in Russia, eastern Ukraine and Moldova.

We invite you to join this online session, share your concerns and ask questions that come to your mind.

In 1990 Irene Langemann emigrated to Germany and became a commissioning editor at Deutsche Welle-TV. Since 1996 she is a freelancing filmmaker with numerous international awards. She was engaged as a coach, lecturer, consultant in different European projects (as of Deutsche Welle Akademie, Council of Europe, UNDP). She directed a number of films shot in eastern European countries, like: "Belarus - The short dream of freedom", "Pavlensky – Man and Might", "Between war and peace" or "Rublyovka - Road to Bliss".
